About Us
As a child I never had the ambition to become a maker of headstones.
Like many, I preferred to stay as far away from funeral homes and cemeteries as possible. Through the years, I have attended many funerals, visited many cemeteries, have had many shed tears on my shoulders. Then, when my husband died, I shed tears on others shoulders and really came to an understanding of the saying, "We understand death for the first time when it touches someone we love."
Death had touched me many times before, but not like it did this time.
I had been a stay at home mother for 33 1/2 years. Now I had to figure out how to provide for my needs. That journey eventually led me to working for a monument company. I discovered that I loved serving my fellow humans in their time of loss and grief.
Through my own experience, I understood that grief could not be hurried, skipped, or ignored.
It had to be lived through one day at a time. I was also fascinated by seeing the plain rock dug from the earth become a beautiful memorial under the skillful hands of the polishers and carvers.
Unexpectedly, opportunity arose for me to open my own monument company and I began my own business in February, 2008 with a simple commitment to serve others by:
1. Serving all I meet with an understanding and caring heart and mind.
2. Give the best service and go the extra mile for each person.
3. Market only top quality stone polished & carved by gifted craftsmen at discount prices.

Three years later, I still focus on serving each person and family to the best of my ability. My sons help me at times in the business.

Celestial Memorial Company LLC is a member of the Louisiana-MIssissippi Monument Builders Association, the Better Business Bureau of Mississippi, and recently Mary has become a member of Cambridge Who's Who in business. We make every effort to keep up with the newest techniques and finishes available so that you can make an informed decision. We plan to continue our education by becoming a certified memorial builder of North America by taking their extensive courses of education. We are not the biggest monument dealer, but we strive to be the best. We consider It a sacred honor to create and install memorials.
